How to set it up
- Pick the app
Open MacDupl and choose Discord from the list of apps installed on your Mac. - Name and colour it
Call it “Work”, “Personal” or a client's name, and give it one of nine icon tints. - Hit Create
About two seconds later there's a new Discord in your Dock — sign into the second Discord account — servers and DMs stay separate from the original.
Questions about Discord
Is this against Discord's terms?
MacDupl only duplicates an app already installed on your Mac, locally, for your own use — nothing is redistributed or modified on any server. Some services restrict multiple simultaneous accounts, so complying with the terms of the apps you clone is your responsibility.
Do both instances get notifications?
Yes. Each is a separate app with its own session, so each notifies for its own account.
Can I use this for a bot account and a personal account?
Yes — any two Discord logins can run side by side, whatever they're used for.
Does Discord's auto-update break the clone?
No. Clones keep themselves in sync with the original — when Discord updates, MacDupl refreshes its instances, sessions intact.
