Install it from the vendor's own download page, not the Mac App Store. App Store builds are sandboxed: their data lives in a shared container that a copy would still read, so they can't be cloned. MacDupl's picker grays those builds out and shows you this same advice.

How to set it up
- Pick the app
Open MacDupl and choose Tailscale from the list of apps installed on your Mac. - Name and colour it
Call it “Work”, “Personal” or a client's name, and give it one of nine icon tints. - Hit Create
About two seconds later there's a new Tailscale in your Dock — sign into the second tailnet — each instance keeps its own network and credentials.
Questions about Tailscale
Can I be on two tailnets at once?
Each instance signs into its own tailnet and runs as its own app. How your Mac routes traffic between them is Tailscale's behaviour, not something MacDupl changes.
Does the App Store version work?
No — install the direct download, which clones normally.
Do credentials leak between instances?
No. Credentials are isolated per instance and never land in the shared macOS Keychain.
Can instances start automatically?
Yes. Any instance can be set to open at login, and they start quietly a couple of seconds apart.
